Typhoon Yolanda Survivor of Last Year, a Filipino CPA Examination Topnotcher Today

Out of 5,540 CPA hopefuls who took the CPA Licensure Examinations only 1, 107 made it and of course, 1 has emerged on the top place.

Rommel Rhino Edusma, 25, a graduate of Asian Development Foundation College has 94.7% rating placing him on the topnotch.

What is more interesting with this man is that, aside from him being able to ace the CPA examination, he has survived the wrath of nature as well. He is one of those who survived typhoon Yolanda or typhoon Haiyan which is one of the strongest typhoons ver recorded in the histyory of humankind.

Yes, the calamity that typhoon Yolanda may have brought and caused turmoil to the lives of the people of Tacloban, but many has also been enlightened on the realizations that after losing the things that we have and hold on to, there is hope.

So guess the saying There’s a rainbow after the rain is indeed true afterall.

Thanks to GOD Almighty!

A Typhoon That is O, So Strong

Last week, a strong typhoon hit our country. Of all the typhoons that came and left, this is one of the typhoons that brought massive destruction to our place.

Like a typhoon I normally encounter, it was raining at first. I thought that it would only be like one of the typhoons that we usually encounter. But no, I am wrong, very wrong.

I woke up in the morning, earlier than the usual. There was no longer supply of electricity at home and to other nearby places. I took a peek outside and the wind was strong very, very strong.

I came back in my room and the wind gets stronger and stronger. There was this time that I found myself unable to move because of the fear that I have during the strong blowing of the winds. When I hear steel roofs making some noise, I hope that it is not our house’s.

I also thought of the strongest storm that hit our country just last year, Yolanda with an international name, Haiyan. I thought of the place and the people that it struck. I somehow felt what they did during the typhoon.

Instead of me letting myself dwell in worries and fears during that time, I knelt down and prayed to GOD to keep us safe, and thank GOD that HE protected us and kept us safe during the entire ordeal.

The following day, when I traveled I saw many electric posts that have fallen down even some telecommunication posts. Many trees and plants have fallen on the ground and on the streets, even houses, devastated.

Recently, electricity has been restored in our place as well as communication and internet, well, surprisingly and thankfully considering the destructions after the typhoon.

I hope that things will soon get better to people who were greatly affected by the typhoon.

Yes, the typhoon has shaken many but not my faith.

Thanks and glory to the greatest and kindest GOD who never failed to protect and care for us always.

A Happy life inside the Church now on its Silk Anniversary

It is exactly 3 days before my spiritual and I cannot be more happy, yey!

When I was in elementary, there are many things that I learned about religion because here in our country, there are subjects (even in college) that teach religion.

I became really interested on the things that my religious teachers are teaching me. I used to ace the examinations that we had during those days, and in college, I also become as industrious and attentive to the religion class as I used to be when I was in elementary. But the difference is, when I was in elementary I am attentive on the class because I want to absorb the lessons being taught to us and eventually, apply the leanings on my day to day living, on the other hand, mostly in college, I am very attentive on the religious class because I was scrutinizing the teachings and things that our teacher are teaching us. I then became a critic against the religious teachings that I used to love and respect.

It may seem that I turned atheist when I was in college, but no, it is otherwise instead.

When I was in highschool, I am fond of watching tv (since my interest in writing and reading have not yet emerged) from noon (after class) up until the wee hours of the night. As I was watching tv, I came across a religious tv program, Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) no matter how I try to remember when exactly I started watching it, I can’t all I know is that I became addicted to it I won’t last a day without watching it. Everyday, as I’m watching it, the more I learn about the truth in the Bible, I came to know GOD, Jesus Christ and the true Church of GOD, the real religion. Not only that, I came to know the things that I should be doing while living.

After graduating from highschool I stop going to church to hear mass and eventually, disregard the religious teachings that u have learned from my previous religion, entirely.

After first semester in college, during break I was baptized and accepted the absolute truth, that the Church of GOD in he Bible is “the” one and only true religion ever existed (and still existing).

October 26, 2001 to be exact. From that day on, I live and breathe the heavenly teachings that I have learned (and learning) inside the Church of GOD.

Life is not easy as a Christian. There are many tribulations and hardships it is because of GOD’s love and mercy that I am still inside the Church.

To GOD I owe all things that I have (and I don’t). Thanks to Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

and ultimately, of course …

Thanks and glory to GOD.

Baguio also known as the city of Pines, is a province situated in the Northern part of the Philippines in Luzon region.  Unlike some regions here in the Philippines, in Baguio the temperature is relatively cold not only during the cold season but all throughout the year.

Knowledge in photography can be acquired from school, books, magazines and other reading materials whether it is on the web or in hard copies. Also, there are lots of internet sites that teach people on how to do photography.

Based on experience, not all people who studied photography in training school have become expert in photography. But of course I am not discouraging anybody to go to training schools or any institutions to learn photography, because i feel that people have different way of learning things, so it would be better if one knows what method or way is effective for himself.

In my own opinion, being a good photographer entails a lot of sacrifice, money and experience. It is not enough that one is equipped with the state of the art photography gears and accessories (although it is good if you have these) but is really important that one possesses creativity and skills. A good set of eyes (and I do not mean this literally) to see the beauty and captivate the moment most especially the rare and important ones. There are some moments that rarely happen, moments that are worth capturing because it may never ever happen again.

For the photography enthusiasts, whatever it is that you have right now (if there is any), camera phone, point in shoot camera, slr or dslr cameras or the like. Do not be afraid, it is time to find out if there is a photographer in you. You may not know if you will still have time later, tomorrow or if you will still have time left to live.

GOD has created innumerous things that are incredible, wonderful and amazing. Go ahead, “take a shot”.

Wonders in North

Before it was a dream that I thought would be impossible to come true but now has become a reality!

Way back when I was in 4th grade, we studied about Philippine geography. While looking at the map my attention was caught by the province at the northern region in the Philippines, and it was Isabela.

At first, I thought that it was really impossible for me to get there because I leave really far from it. Well, as they said, impossible things can happen sometimes. Just recently, my friends and I have traveled to explore the scenic spots in the North.

Now, let me introduce the Northern provinces that we have visited. We first arrived in Isabela. It is situated at the northern region of the Philippines particularly in Cagayan valley in Luzon region. Its capital city is Ilagan. It has cities, Cauayan and Santiago.

Isabela is the second largest province in the Philippines. One of the known tourist spots in Isabela is Magat Dam. It is situated on Magat River and considered as one of the largest dams in the Philippines.

I and my friends were also able to visit Tuguegarao City, where Buntun Bridge is erected. It is considered as one of the longest bridges in the Philippines. From there, you will be able to see the spectacular view of the Cagayan River.

Also, we were able to visit Cagayan Valley where Sierra cave is located. Specifically, Sierra cave is in the town of Peñablanca. Sierra cave is one of the living caves in the Philippines. In there you can see shells embedded on the wall of the cave which may be considered as living evidence that Sierra cave is indeed was once immersed in water.

Another cave is situated just a stone throw away from Sierra cave called Callao cave. There are 7 chambers that can be found in this cave. It is one of the famous tourist attractions in the province of Cagayan.

Having seen these nature’s wonders, I wonder why some people does not believe in the very existence of GOD. The nature itself is one of the amazing things that we have in this world. And not only the nature but also the celestial bodies from the smallest to the biggest and the other things that we see in the outer space. The world and the entire universe are so beautiful and amazing for it to be only caused by the massive explosion as suggested by the Big Bang theory.  For me, I strongly believe that there GOD and the HE really do exist. And HE is the creator of the universe and all the things that we see, even our very being.

Thanks and glory be to GOD
