Nowadays, there are many people who are engaged in to skin whitening. Why? According to an article written by Catherine Saint Louis posted on http://www.nytimes.com, it says –
“Sociological studies have shown among African-Americans and also Latinos, there’s a clear connection between skin color and socioeconomic status. It’s not some fantasy. There is prejudice against dark-skinned people, especially women in the so-called marriage market.”
Some people who are into skin whitening use products such as glutathione, soap, cream, lotion, etc.
While some of these products are proven to be effective, some cause diseases for those who use it. According to an article written by Lyn Berry posted on http://www.naturalnews.com it says –
“Women more often try to whiten their skin and as a consequence poison their bodies. These lightening creams such as ‘Crema de Belleza-Manning’, which is made in Mexico, contain mercurous chloride and is easily absorbed through the skin.
Toxic levels of mercury lead to mercury poisoning which causes neurological and kidney damage, and may also lead to psychiatric disorders. In addition, it can lead to severe birth defects.
Fairer, lighter skins is highly valued in some countries such as Asia and India. And even in countries where traditionally a tanned skin is seen as healthier, some women are using skin lightening products to achieve the flawless look of stars, such as Cate Blanchett.
Skin lightening products reduce the amount of melanin which makes the body more vulnerable to UV rays and thus to skin cancer and ageing. It is then necessary to protect your skin from the skin.”
Having all these in mind, to spare oneself on suffering from the unpleasant side effects of the chemicals on the whitening products, it is highly advisable to avoid using these products and just be happy and proud with your skin color no matter what it is and what other people say about it.
GOD has covered people in varying skin complexions, though we might not totally understand the reason, but we should trust that whatever skin color that we have, it is the best color that we can have.
After all, it is GOD who created us and HE knows what is best for us.
