January 23, 2012, Pasay City Philippines – Approximately 209, 000 people from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao came to join the Kahit Isang Araw Lang Unity Run of Kuya Daniel Razon and UNTV as its official media partner. The event took place at the grounds of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. The running categories are 3k, 5k, and 10k respectively.
The financial proceeds of this event will benefit the free education project that Kuya Daniel Razon and Bro. Eli Soriano have spearheaded.
Historically, a similar running event, Run for Pasig River took place last October 10, 2010. There have been a total of 116,086 people who participated on this event that entitles it to merit the Guinness World record. On the other hand, as mentioned earlier, the Kahit Isang Araw Lang Unity Run has approximately 209, 000 participants. This event clearly outshined the current Guinness World record holder. But then again, Kuya Daniel Razon is not after the recognition.
On the other side of the globe, Bro. Eli Soriano and his friends joined the event. In addition, as support to this event, people from other countries – New York, Singapore, California, Papua New Guinea and others conducted the same event.
After the series of its test radio broadcast, UNTV Radio La Verdad has been formally launched today, January 16, 2012. The frequency of UNTV Radio La Verdad is 1350 kHz in AM band. Like the UNTV station, The studio of the UNTV Radio La Verdad is housed in 907 EDSA Baranggay Philam, Quezon City.
Kuya Daniel Razon, the current UNTV-BMPI Chairman and CEO, aside from his other media advocacy, aims to preserve the glory of classic radio.
One of the radio programs that the listeners should be looking forward to is Dear Bro. Eli. This radio program will tackle stories sent through letters from different people.
Radyo Laverdad 1350 has a slogan that says; Tapat at Totoo (Honest and Truthful).
The only sensible Preacher, Bro. Eli Soriano serenades the audience in a concert that was held yesterday, January 1, 2012 in Ang Dating Daan Convention Center Apalit, Pampanga. The concert was entitled – Oldies with Old Bro. Eli. It started at 7:00 pm. It opened with a dance number performed by a group of dancers, followed by a song number by a guest female singer, Rose Galang.
The concert was also graced by surprise guests and one of those is the veteran singer Ms. Nanette Inventor. She performed a set of songs that made the crowd put their hands together and laugh at the same time. Towards the end of her performance, Nanette thank the LORD, first of all and the audience for the 29 years in her career.
Also, Ms. Claire de la Fuente who is known for being the “Karen Carpenter” of the Philippines came to the concert. Before the audience, she sang the song – “Something In Your Eyes” that was composed by Richard Carpenter who is the brother of the famous singer, Karen Carpenter. According to Claire, the song has not been recorded by Karen Carpenter herself and she was lucky that among all the female singers, she was chosen to record the song.
Last but not the least, Daniel Razon, a famous broadcaster graced the event as one of the special guest and performer. On the event, he sang a song together with Bro. Eli.
During the concert, Bro. Eli performed a set of old-but-still-good -songs way, far, far back from the year 1900’s. Some of the songs that he sang according to him were the songs that he heard from her parents. The concert was filled with stories from Bro. Eli’s childhood and memories of his beloved parents.
According to Bro. Eli, the songs that he sang on his concert are the songs that have been part of his life and of his loved ones.
